The first Northern Ireland Mini Yacht Open will take place on Benone Beach, Limavady on the weekend of 9 th & 10 th May 2009.
Organised by Mectec Training, Northern Ireland's only Blokart & Zooter dealer, this event should prove to be a popular weekend.
Not only will Mectec organise Blokart racing but they have extended to offer to all mini yachts. So, if you have a Potty, X sail, Ludic, Zooter or any sand yacht which fits into the mini yacht category it could be the best outing you make this year. It is also possible that there could be some class 8 (kite buggy) racing.
As this is an open event anyone can join in. Experience is not even a major requirement as Mectec place more emphasis on fun & participation. Members of Blokarters.com will be present for the weekend and assisting with after race activities. We welcome anyone new to the sport to contact us with any questions.
Most participants will be making use of the facilities at Benone Tourist Complex on the Saturday night. The complex which is situated right beside the beach can accommodate Tents, Caravans & Motor homes/campers. Electric hook ups are available & run on a prepay card system. We advise anyone attending to book the campsite early as it can get quite busy.
